Hardwood Floor Care

With today’s technological inventions it is easy to maintain a newly installed/refinished Hardwood Floor.  There are numerous products you can use to clean the floors.  Keeping a floor clean helps maintain the life of the floor and color.  The First Two Weeks after finishing the floor is still settling in, therefore, it is important to be gentle when moving furniture around, avoid using water cleaning solutions (worst enemy of the varnish/shine), avoid heavy traffic.  Wipe up spills immediately with a dry cloth.  Apply felt pads to furniture (chairs, beds, tables, etc). 

Long Term Maintenance

-As statistically proven a good rule to maintaining floors is vacuum or dust weekly
-After vacuum/dust we recommend cleaning the floor with top quality cleaning products 
-Using a humidifier helps the wood maintain the moisture within preventing cracks between the borders
-Do not use wet-mops to clean the wood floor because water and wood do not mix well together
-Given that kitchen floors are high level of traffic we advice a rug be used to prevent floor damage
-Always have a walk-off mat in front of the door preventing you from bringing in outside dirt and/or water
-It is highly recommended that once a year the floor gets re-coated to eliminate any scratches or wear
